14C28N steel, which is made by Sandvik® in Sweden, has been specially developed for hunting, fishing, pocket and chef's knives. It is a very rustproof knife steel, which is also extremely sharp. The Rockwell hardness is curable up to 62 HRC and has a very high rust inertia. The 14C28N steel is  a very hard, but still excellent for sharpening. The peculiarity here is that the 14C28N steel, like many other similar materials with this hardness, does not  tend to be so-called microchips , that is to say , it has tiny breaks  when sharpening. Likewise, the steel is very robust against transverse loads on the Schneidfase and thus does not tend to  flip over the chamfer .
