Product Description
The Pro V revolutionized the archery industry by becoming the first ever limb driven rest with a full-capture option, an adjustable spring tension, and free-floating launcher arm. By supporting the arrow for 70% of the shot cycle, the Pro-V allows the arrow to reach the speed needed to stabilize itself before being pulled away, adding an obvious increase in accuracy and performance, especially downrange. During this support, the free floating launcher arm and adjustable spring tension pair up allowing the archer to fine tune the performance even further to their liking. The limb driven arrow rest has become even quieter by increasing the size of the rubber dampener, making it absolutely unbeatable.

Now, I haven't been shooting for very long... a little over 3 weeks actually... and I was able to install this myself. Everything you need comes in the package, and in some cases like mine, comes with things you don't. Again, I'm new to this and don't have any specialty tools, and I was able to install this in no time with no problems. The instructions on the package are all you'll need. The only thing you'll need to do that there aren't instructions for, is tie a knot. You're on your own for knowing how to tie an appropriate knot. (There are plenty of YouTube videos for this.)
During installation, I did notice one thing that is worth mentioning... the only downside is that the mounting bracket is much thinner (about 50%) than the whisker biscuit I took off; Not sure how it compares to the mounts of other rests... so when I installed it onto my bow (2014 Bowtech Carbon Knight), the allen screw was a bit too long. I needed to add another washer in order for it to tighten down completely. No biggie, just something to keep in mind depending on how your riser may be threaded. (Just to clarify... the 50% thickness is not my concern, just the screw not threading. The construction of the rest of very solid.)
Once lightly tightened onto the riser, it was very easy to re-tune center shot (or close to) using the windage and elevation adjustment. This was very nice to have. I don't have any archery tools, so to get a baseline I simply nocked an arrow and then took measurements at the front and back of the arrow to the riser and the riser shelf. (I still need to take some shots to tune this in completely.)
Also, the riser on the Carbon Knight comes with these nice looking anodized tabs at the upper and lower limbs. I removed one and could not think of any reason they were there other than aesthetics. However, this worked as the perfect tie-off point for the limb cable. So, I didn't have a need to install the limb pad that comes with this rest, I simply slipped the cable under the bracket and re-tightened. Works like a charm.
To address some peoples concern about the cable being in the way when tied to the upper limb, it is a total non-issue. The cable couldn't be any farther out of the way; you will not see this in your view when sighting.
One tip I do have for this..... INSTALL THE MOLESKIN ON THE REST BEFORE INSTALLATION. LOL
It will be so much easier to position on the containment ring when you're only dealing with the rest and not the rest AND the bow. This is not critical.... but I think would just be easier. Personal opinion I guess.
Well, I've had the rest on my bow for a little over a month now and I have to say I LOVE it. I can definitely notice an improvement in my accuracy as well as consistency and grouping. I think VaporTrail has done a great job with the improvements this year as I don't have any noise or vibration issues that were mentioned with the older models. Awesome product... very happy with this purchase.
I know 20 yards isn't a big deal to shoot at but when you are aiming at a 1 1/2 inch stick on target and get a bulls eye at that distance a better grouping is a must.
Not to go into detail but this is worth the money. I've only been shooting/hunting for a year so I don't have all the experience in the world. You hear people say the whisker biscuit rest is a great rest design and you shouldn't have to replace it.. I would recommend buying one of these and testing it out.
I would recommend watching the install videos on the website.. I got stuck on how to create the D loop on the limbdriver cord.. from there it was pretty simple to adjust center shot and what not.
