Wow, I finally bought this knife and I'm glad I Did.
5 Stars
Wow, I finally bought this knife and I'm glad I Did.
I own a lot of knives and I was unsure about buying this one. I always passed it up but the price was right so I took the plunge. I am glad I did. I own a lot of Mora knives and I have many other brands as well. None of them cost over $200. I can't justify spending over that amount in case I lose it. I like knives that can take a beating to include batoning but will cut up veggies and meat when I am camping to include skinning game. This knife does it for me. I have been using it in the kitchen lately to test it out. I did use 2 Minute Remover (paint remover) to take off the coating. I also used Apple Cider vinegar and mustard to patina the blade. It came out great. Get one. You won't regret it!

4.0 out of 5 stars It’s good,
Reviewed in the United States on March 3, 2023
Not exactly a hard use knife…. It can handle an abundance of outdoor tasks. Feels good in the hand, at least for me it does. Not a robust handle, somewhat slim in girth, but allot of real estate length wise. I wouldn’t call it non slip, however it would take allot for that to happen.
The blade wasn’t razor sharp when I received it, it did have a really nice working edge though. Not sure about the blade tip, it appears like it could break if used to pry. I’d steer clear of doing that. The spine is coated like the rest of the blade and isn’t sharp enough to use on Ferro rod. A little work will solve that problem.
The sheath is decent. Retention after long term use may fade….. Can’t make a call on that. Haven’t had it that long. All in all it is a pretty good knife for what you’ll pay for it. I’ll be strapping it at my side for local excursions, and be happy to do so. But I won’t go out on a limb and call it a dedicated survival knife. I’m kind of doubtful about its durability with heavier uses over a period of time. Again, for what you’ll pay it is a great knife that should give you many years of moderate service. I even bought one for my son for general use while camping. I’d definitely buy it again.

Best knife for the price hands down if you know anything about Knives. Slightly higher quality steel then American made 1080. SK5 is a hard steel and can handle lots of abuse, produced in Japan as far as I know. My "Bushman" series CS knife is also made of SK5.

Handle is okay for comfort but great for grip in the worst of conditions when failing isnt a option and you want a knife you can trust!
