Rough up the ends of the Tinder-Quick and shoot a spark into it or touch a match or lighter to it, and you have that potentially life-saving fire. I keep some in my Altoid tin-sized PSK (Personal Survial Kit) along with three fire building systems, and also in my always-packed emergency preparedness backpack. This way, I can just grab & go if I need to.
